Hartzel Marine Service

Boat Winterization

Fluids, fogging, antifreeze, fuel stabilizer, battery storage. Booked September through November.

About this service

Ontario winters are hard on a boat that hasn't been put away properly. Our winterization process is the same every year for a reason: it works. We pull the water, change the fluids, fog the engine, stabilize the fuel, and write it all down in your file.

Engine fogging, antifreeze through cooling system, fluid changes.

Fuel stabilizer added to a full tank to prevent ethanol issues over winter.

Battery removal and indoor storage available as an add-on.

  • Engine fogging (two- and four-stroke)

FAQ

Common questions

When should I book winterization?

Book by September 15. We winterize from late September through November and slots fill in October.

Do I have to winterize if I store inside?

Yes. Indoor unheated storage still goes below freezing. The cost of a missed winterization is a cracked block or a split exhaust. Both far more than the service.

Can you store the battery for me too?

Yes. Battery removal and indoor storage is a common add-on. Pick it up healthy in spring instead of buying a new one.
